The resolution contract
Fixed when the question was written — what happens is checked against this, not against vibes. Ambiguous? It resolves N/A and everyone is refunded.
- Resolution criteria
- Count named settlements shown on the in-game pause map or an official map. A "settlement" = a labeled town/city with buildings you can drive through. Neighborhoods *within* Vice City count as one city, not many. Named unincorporated landmarks (a single gas station, a marina) don't count. *(Rockstar/trailers have already established 7+ distinct settlements — Vice City, Ambrosia, Port Gellhorn, Hamlet, Waning Sands, Watson Bay, Yorktown — so the `≤ 6` bucket is removed; the real contest is `7–9` vs `10–13` vs `14+`.)*
- Source of truth
- In-game pause-map labels, moderator-verified.
- Resolves
- Within 2 weeks of launch.
- N/A (refund) if
- No stable count is agreeable because "settlement" is genuinely ambiguous for >1 borderline case that would change the bucket.
- Resolution deadline
- Nov 26, 2026
How payouts work
Parimutuel: all stakes pool together. When the question resolves, winners get their stake back plus a share of the losers’ points, proportional to stake weight. No house, no odds-setting — the crowd IS the odds.
